A Short Walk In Downtown Montréal

A five hour train ride brought me to the centre of Montréal for a meeting with colleagues on wiki collaboration. It was a sunny and cold autumn day, perfect for a short walk to take notice of the joie de vivre atmosphere of this beautiful city.

Democratic Expression – Québec Students Protest (Photos)

    Montréal – August 22, 2012: After I finished meeting with my colleagues at a conference, I was walking back to find a quiet place where I could prep for a Wiki Collaboration workshop I was scheduled to deliver the next day.
    As I turned a corner in downtown Montréal I ran into students engaged in what appeared to be a playful protest.
    Unlike the many other student riots in Montréal since the tuition hikes were announced, this one was a peaceful demonstration – yet beneath the surface I sensed the students had no regard for elected governments and by taking to the streets they would bring about change.
